Nayo continues to work with Prince/SF Productions to find an appropriate venue for the U.S. Premiere of the Machu Picchu Concerto for Kena and Orchestra. A European premiere is being planned for 2009--stay tuned for more details to come!

Works in Progress

• Nayo is teaming up with Afro-Peruvian master composer and arranger Coco Linares to create a Peruvian Suite, a classical work based on traditional Peruvian musical forms.


Major Appearances

  • In the 80s, numerous concerts throughout the United States and Europe sponsored by the Peruvian Consulate.

  • Guest artist with the Oakland Symphony: Gala featuring Mozart's operatic arias performed on the Andean flute and Pan-pipes.

  • Solo performer with the Sacramento Symphony: performed "Cotopaxy", a piece by British composer David Chatwit.

  • Guest artist performing on the Kena and Sikus with "Sonos Handbell Ensemble" and mezzo-soprano Fredericka Von Stade: works by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla

  • Three performances at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California, as part of the annual "Ethnic Dance Festival". This event featured local San Francisco, Bay Area musicians, Lucio Galvez, Heather Bridger, as well as, the "Peruvian Dance Company" and Peruvian dance troup "Canchis".

  • Guest Artist with Peruvian based Los Violines de Lima for the 2002 internacional conference of Peruvian Institutions. Nayo performed on the Kena, the Peruvian and North-American Anthems, as well as several Peruvian classics. This performance featured Nayo Ulloa in Peruvian Andean Music and Eva Ayllon in Afro-Peruvian and Peruvian 'musica criolla'.
